Introduction

   The Vela Latina Canaria is a nautical sport of boats that is developed in the Canary Islands, especially in Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, in which the objective depending on the trophy that is being disputed is to make the best time or simply to arrive before a couple. These boats are propelled by the wind, and the crew is in charge of steer the boat, and tries to make the most of the movement. The boats, with which the races are carried out, called boats, are composed of a three-pronged sail and it emphasizes the disproportion so great that exists in between the hull and the dimension of the same.
